Un sogno chiamato Italia. Dai gol di Aleksandrs Čekulajevs alla prima coreana giallorossa Kim Shinji
2011: in una fresca serata baltica, sotto il cielo plumbeo dell’Estonia, un nome rimbomba tra gli spalti dello stadio di Narva. Aleksandrs Čekulajevs, il cecchino lettone, l’incubo delle difese avversarie, il goleador implacabile. 46 reti in 35 partite: numeri che non mentono, numeri che consacrano.
Ma il suo sogno vola più lontano, oltre i confini freddi del Nord Europa. Aleksandrs non ha mai fatto mistero della sua ambizione: l’Italia. E, ancora di più, il Milan.
“Giocare in Italia sarebbe un sogno. Il top? Il Milan, dove gioca Inzaghi, il bomber a cui assomiglio di più”, aveva confessato con gli occhi illuminati di speranza. Quel sogno sembrava a un passo dal concretizzarsi, un filo sottile lo legava alla Penisola, e Simone Bortolan Gianese tentò di tessere la tela del destino. Ma, come spesso accade nel calcio e nella vita, la realtà non si lasciò plasmare dai desideri.
L’Italia rimase un miraggio. Aleksandrs sbarcò invece a Malta, terra di sole e mare, ma lontana dall’eco della Serie A. Indossò le maglie del Valletta e dello Zejtun Corinthians, lasciando tracce del suo talento anche tra le strade assolate dell’isola. Poi, l’ultimo capitolo calcistico si scrisse tra le brume delle Isole Faroe, con l’AB Argir, in un epilogo che sembrava quasi il sipario su un’avventura mai del tutto compiuta.
Ma il calcio, si sa, offre sempre una seconda occasione, magari non come protagonista sul campo, ma come guida per chi quel sogno ancora lo insegue. Aleksandrs ha appeso gli scarpini al chiodo, ma non ha smesso di vivere il pallone. Oggi è un procuratore, CEO della MNG Sports Agency, e tra i talenti che cura c’è una giovane promessa destinata a calcare i campi italiani: Kim Shinji.
Annunciata ieri dalla Roma Femminile con la maglia numero 48, la coreana porta con sé la fame e la determinazione che un tempo appartenevano ad Aleksandrs.
“L’idea di portare Kim alla Roma è nata dalla volontà di capire le sue capacità dopo un’ottima Coppa del Mondo”, ha raccontato Čekulajevs a WomenFootball.it. Stavolta, il progetto è andato a segno, a differenza di quel sogno infranto.
Aleksandrs Čekulajevs non ha mai vestito la maglia rossonera. Non ha mai calcato i campi della Serie A. Ma forse, in qualche modo, ha trovato il suo riscatto. Non più come bomber, ma come artefice di nuove stelle.
E chissà, forse un giorno vedrà uno dei suoi talenti realizzare quel sogno che lui ha solo sfiorato.

Today, he is an agent, CEO of MNG Sports Agency, and among the talents he manages is a young promise destined to grace the Italian fields: Kim Shinji.
Announced yesterday by Roma Femminile with the number 48 jersey, the Korean carries the same hunger and determination that once belonged to Aleksandrs. “The idea of bringing Kim to Roma was born from the desire to understand her abilities after an excellent World Cup,” Čekulajevs shared with our microphones. This time, the project was a success, unlike the dream that eluded him.
Aleksandrs Čekulajevs never wore the Rossoneri jersey. He never set foot on Serie A fields. But perhaps, in some way, he has found his redemption. No longer as a striker, but as a creator of new stars. And who knows—maybe one day, he will see one of his talents fulfill the dream he only came close to.
